Wicked is written by Stephen Schwartz and features a book written by Winnie Holzman and is based off the 1995 novel ‘Wicked’ written by Gregory Maguire. The musical is set in the Land Of Oz, long before anyone has ever heard of Dorothy or Toto. Wicked tells the story of two witches and how they develop into Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. Wicked has broken box office records in cities all over the world and currently has seven different productions touring in the US and internationally. One of the more edgy shows during the Dallas Summer Musical’s 2013 lineup is Priscilla Queen Of The Desert. This is a story of two drag queens and a transsexual who travel together for a show. During the trip the trio faces a medley of hatred, violence, acceptance, love, and understanding. Priscilla Queen Of The Desert brings you some amazing music, dazzling costumes, and a touching story of just trying to be accepted. Based on the hit 1992 comedy film which starred Whoopi Goldberg, Sister Act is the story about the life of Deloris Van Cartier which takes a sudden turn when she is witness to a crime. The cops hide her in the last place anyone would look – a convent! Deloris is a diva and helps her fellow sisters find their voice and renew their faith and friendship. Dallas Summer Musicals brings Sister Act to the stage in 2013 from Tuesday June 4th through Sunday June 16th.
